MAN FEARED SLAIN AT HOME

Sunday February 12 2012
– Homicide Squad detectives last night were probing the suspected slaying of a man at a North Melbourne residence.
Ambulances were called to the Canning Street home around 5.40pm and found the man in his 40s dead with gunshot or stab wounds. Neighbours say the townhouse, next to housing commission flats, was quiet yesterday after reports of a disturbance late Friday.
Police doorknocked the area to see ask locals if they had heard arguing or gunshots.
A man, 25, was bashed to death in a street brawl in Horsham early yesterday. The man, who died in hospital, had been in police custody two hours earlier and was believed to have been attacked by six men – Herald Sun
