– A police sergeant has been charged with criminal damage after a brawl with Bandidos bikie gang members in country Victoria.
The policeman, from the Melbourne-based Transit and Public Safety Command, has been suspended without pay and will face court over an incident in Echuca on April 6th, Victoria Police said yesterday.
Two policemen were injured after a fight between several off-duty officers and Bandidos at a licensed venue in Echuca.
One of the officers was admitted to hospital with facial injuries.
Local detectives, overseen by Victoria Police Professional Standards Command, investigated the incident.
The sergeant has been ordered to face Echuca Magistrates Court on July 23rd – AAP
