WOMAN, 73, STABBED – Saturday June 1 2013

image image– A Melbourne robber who stabbed an elderly woman in the neck during a break-in left the woman for dead, police say.
Detective Senior Sergeant Stuart Bailey said the man, in his 40s, used a 30-centimetre knife to stab the 73-year-old woman after she opened the door.
Senior Sergeant Bailey said the man forced the woman to give him her bank card and PIN number before stabbing her twice in the neck.
The woman activated a personal alarm before collapsing, alerting police, who broke into her Endeavour Hills home to rescue her.
The attacker tried to use the woman’s card at an ATM in Dandenong shortly after the May 21st assault. The woman is in a stable condition in hospital – The Age
