– A man has been arrested for allegedly burgling a house… after he left his pet dog tied up outside.
Raymond Rhodes, 19, was arrested at his home in Centralia, Washington, after police officers recognised his pit bull tied up outside the home.
Detectives then went to Rhodes’ home, where the found items allegedly stolen in a burglary at the home.
After getting a search warrant, investigators found more stolen items in the home.
Centralia police officer John Panco told the Seattle Weekly: ‘An officer had seen Rhodes earlier in the day walking with the dog.
‘When an officer showed up at the residence, the victim said “yeah, he left his dog”.
‘Turned out it was the same dog the officer had seen earlier. So when they showed up at the owner’s house, they found that he had stolen property from at least three different burglaries.’
Rhodes is being held in Lewis County Jail pending an investigation of residential burglary.
