Money and a shoe were found alongside skid marks which stretched along the road for about 100 metres.

Police are appealing for the rider or anyone who may have picked him up to contact police and have since released images of the motorcycle in hopes someone will recognise it.

The red and white Honda CBR 900 motorcycle has a distinctive face painted on its body.

Upon locating the motorbike, a search was conducted involving police dogs, helicopters and State Emergency Service volunteers.

The registration details of the motorcycle have been checked but they have not been of any assistance to police.
